The Blue Devils put on a show in their final regular season game Friday at home, cruising past a good Bulldog team on the strength of three very strong quarters to take the Mid Penn Colonial contest.

A stingy man-to-man defense held Big Spring (14-3, 11-3 MPC) to just 16 points through three periods. G-A built its lead to 35 points with two minutes left in the third (51-16 after three quarters), creating a running clock for the rest of the game.
Greencastle (13-3, 11-3 MPC) is currently ranked No. 8 in Class 5A in the District 3 power rankings. If it finishes in that spot, it will host a first-round game on Wednesday.
“This was a great way to end the regular season and build momentum toward the district playoffs,” G-A coach Mike Rhine said. “It was another total team effort against a high quality and well-coached team. It all started with our defense and that just fed our confidence on the offense end.”
That confidence showed in the shooting — Greencastle attempted 24 3-pointers and made 12 of them.
Mia Libby rolled up 18 points, 4 assists and 3 steals, Sayge Wilhide had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, Haley Noblit scored 12 and had 6 assists, Lauren Poole scored 6 points and had 9 boards and Jenna Powell had 4 points and 10 rebounds.
Rhine said, “All three of our guards (Libby, Wilhide and Noblit) shot it well and Lauren, Jenna and Olivia (Winslow) made it hard for them to score inside. It was a total team win on both ends of the floor.”
