WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College had a program-high seven players named to the All-North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Soccer team, it was announced Thursday. The Wildcats and Penn State-Berks topped the conference with seven selections.
Freshman Ashley Donat (Lehartsville, Pa.), junior Jane Herman (Greencastle, Pa.), and sophomore Francesca Timpone (Smithtown, N.Y.) were named to the Second Team, while senior Hailee Hartman (Lampeter, Pa.), sophomore Brecia Beck (Lancaster, Pa.), and freshmen Dominique Brown (Benton, Pa.) and Taylor Gonzalez (Lititz, Pa.) earned Third Team honors.
Herman landed on the second team for the second straight season. The midfielder netted two goals and four assists and used her vision and athleticism see success on both the attacking and defensive end.
Donat was one of just three freshman on the second team after finishing seventh in the conference with 14 goals. The forward added three assists for 31 points, which was eighth in the NEAC. Donat also earned a NEAC Player of the Week nod.
Timpone played every minute of every game for Penn College and anchored the back four. The defender was very dangerous in all restart situations, which led to six assists and one goal.
Hartman earned her third All-NEAC honor after a second team selection as a junior and a third team nod following her sophomore year as forward. Hartman finished fourth in the conference in assists (9), 10th in points (29), and 11th in goals with 10. Hartman also broke Penn College's program career record for points and goals.
Beck, a defender, was tasked with marking the opposing team's best player and her speed and awareness allowed to clean up in the defensive end for the Wildcats.
Brown was 11th in the conference in goals with 10 and finished 15th in points with 23. The forward started in 18 contests and had a career-high three goals against Lycoming College.
Gonzalez played in all 20 games in goal for Penn College, starting in 16. She stopped 81 shots, was second in the conference in shutouts with five, and fourth in the league in wins with eight.
