Not a complete overhaul, but a few changes in this week’s PennLive Class 3A girls’ basketball state rankings.

We had to get out the paring knife and do a little cosmetic surgery after Berks Catholic, South Park and Forest Hills all suffered losses last week; Berks Catholic and South Park dropped a couple of slots, and we elevated a longtime District 3 powerhouse into the top 10:

Say hello to Lancaster Catholic, which is off to a blistering 14-1 start, features one of the top ninth-graders in the state — freshman Kiki Jefferson is averaging 21 points and multiple jaw-dropping moments per game — and has won 91 Lancaster-Lebanon League games in a row.

Undefeated Hickory and back-to-back PIAA champ Blackhawk both bumped up a few spots, while the top four of Archbishop Wood — which beat Penn Charter in the Hoops for Hope Classic on Sunday — Villa Maria (Erie), South Fayette and Trinity (District 7) remained the same.

Here is PennLive’s Class AAA top 10 through Jan. 17, plus honorable mention selections, with home district in parenthesis and overall record …
