There are a few cosmetic changes in this week’s PennLive girls’ basketball Class AAA state rankings:
Indiana, which we had at No. 10 the last couple of weeks, lost in its WPIAL first-rounder to McGuffey, so we had to say adios to Indy.
That opened up a spot for West Perry, which was in the top 10 earlier this season — and back again, after the Mustangs punched their tickets to the District 3 semifinals. West Perry is the reigning district champ and won a pair of PIAA playoff games last March.
So the Mustangs are back in.
The only other tweak: We flip-flopped Mercyhurst Prep and Allentown Central Catholic, after Prep advanced to the District 10 semifinals and ACC fell to No. 3 Bethlehem Catholic in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference title game.
Hardly a bad loss for the Vikettes there, so we only docked them one spot.
Everything else is status quo, with reigning PIAA champ Blackhawk leading the charge and pair of undefeated teams — Hickory (22-0) and West York (27-0) — lurking.
There could be more changes here soon; No. 2 Archbishop Wood takes on Class AA No. 1 Neumann-Goretti in the Philadelphia Catholic League finale this week, and Becahi and ACC are on a collision course to meet in the District 11 finale.
Plus, Hickory, Mercyhurst Prep and No. 9 Villa Maria are all duking it out in the District 10 playoffs; Hickory and Villa are set for a semifinal showdown on Wednesday.
Stay tuned.
