It’s our weekly District 3 Top 12 Girls’ Basketball Power Poll, a look at a dozen of the hottest squads around the district, any league, any classification.

It’s the 12 teams we think have the best shots at winning district gold and making deep postseason runs come late February.

Here’s our latest list

1. Cumberland Valley (Mid-Penn Commonwealth, last week: 1, 18-1) — Mucho big game Monday vs. undefeated CD East. Be there.

2. CD East (Mid-Penn Commonwealth, last week: 2, 18-0) — At Cumberland Valley on Monday night for Commonwealth supremacy.

3. West York (York/Adams Division II, last week: 4, 20-0) — There aren’t many undefeated teams across the state. Bulldogs are one of them.

4. West Perry (Mid-Penn Capital, last week: 6, 17-2) — Reigning District 3-AAA champs are at Camp Hill on Tuesday for the Capital championship.

5. Lancaster Catholic (L-L Section 4, last week: 7, 19-2) — A win Tuesday at Annville-Cleona would give the Crusaders 80 L-L wins in a row. Chew on that for a couple of minutes.

6. Cedar Crest (L-L Section 1, last week: 9, 17-3) — Soaring Falcons riding a 13-game winning streak, and zeroing in on Section 1 title.

7. Palmyra (Mid-Penn Keystone, last week: 3, 19-2) — OT loss at Cedar Crest last Wednesday was a crusher. But Cougars are still in line for Keystone crown.

8. Mechanicsburg (Mid-Penn Keystone, last week: 8, 18-2) — Wildcats need a win over Hanna and a Palmyra loss to force a tie in the Keystone.

9. Greencastle-Antrim (Mid-Penn Colonial, last week: 10, 17-2) — Blue Devils would love a deeper trip in the Mid-Penn playoffs — and definitely in the District 3-AAA bracket — this time around.

10. Berks Catholic (Berks Section 2, last week: 12, 17-3) — We like the Saints to bring home the Berks hardware.

11. York Catholic (York/Adams Division III, last week: 5, 17-3) — Fighting Irish fell to undefeated West York in a nonleague clash on Saturday. Still sensing a long postseason run in York Catholic’s immediate future.

12. Halifax (Tri-Valley League East, last week: 11, 14-7) — Wildcats gearing up for TVL playoffs — and for a run at the District 3-A grand prize.
