Here’s a new feature for PennLive’s girls’ basketball all-star repertoire:
It’s our all underclassmen team, featuring 10 top freshman and/or sophomore players from this past season — listed alphabetically …
Tysha Brown, sophomore, Harrisburg — Cougars’ cat-quick point guard excelled in transition, while netting 12.0 points and dropping 22 3s for a Harrisburg squad that caused a lot of headaches.
Hannah Crist, sophomore, Greencastle-Antrim — Blue Devils’ heads-up floor general bucketed 10.8 points, splashed 31 3s and helped G-A win the Mid-Penn Colonial. FYI: Devils bring back four starters next season.
Rylee Derr, freshman, Warwick — Heard about this youngster coming up through the Warriors’ program, and she didn’t disappoint in her first go-round, dropping in 18.0 points, second-most in the L-L League.
Rileigh Devine, sophomore, Red Land — Key cog in Patriots’ resurgence averaged 12.1 points and bottomed out a team-best 40 3s — on a squad that wasn’t afraid to let it fly from deep.
Alyssa Hershey, sophomore, Pequea Valley — Multi-purpose threat is dangerous on the baseline and from the perimeter, where she splashed 18 3s and averaged a team-best 16.8 points for the Braves, who went to the district playoffs.
Ahnera Parker, freshman, McCaskey — Terrific debut for the Red Tornado’s power-packed low-post threat; Parker was tough as nails in the paint, flipping in 13.3 points while firmly establishing herself as a top-shelf glass crasher.
Bella Ricci, sophomore, Red Land — Teamed with Devine to give the Patriots an imposing 1-2 arch punch; she chipped in with 9.5 points and drilled 31 3s for Red Land.
Caroline Scarff, sophomore, Lancaster Catholic — Pegged the Crusaders’ talented low-post threat for big things after she cracked the starting lineup as a freshman last year. Continued her early
success with 11.6 points for Lancaster Catholic, which won its fourth L-L Section 4 crown in a row.
Caroline Stauffer, freshman, Ephrata — Hit the ground running in her frosh season, popping in 13.2 points with 39 3s for the Mounts. Major sniper.
Emily White, sophomore, Cocalico — Was in the Eagles’ rotation in her freshman season, and the dribble-driver and perimeter threat really came into her own this winter in the starting five, contributing 12.0 points and 18 3s.
