BE-DEVILING ALL-COMERS: Coach Mike Rhine and Greencastle-Antrim are zooming right along at 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the Colonial, enjoying a 1-game lead over Big Spring and Gettysburg. And the Devils already beat the Warriors — 55-41 last Monday in Gettysburg — the first time around. Big Spring visits G-A on Jan. 7. Before then, the Devils have an intriguing first-round game on Friday vs. Lower Dauphin in LD’s holiday tourney. If you’re looking to partake in a girls’ basketball holiday tourney on Friday, circle that one. Devils were supposed to be a year away; Chloe Hoover is the lone senior on board, and leading scorer Jenay Faulkner is a freshman. Time is now for G-A, and its been playing like it up to this point. FYI: The second-place tie will be snapped on the first night back, when Big Spring visits Gettysburg on Jan. 3. Make a mental note.
MAKING HISTORY: Greencastle-Antrim is 6-0 for the first time since the 1996-97 season. Happy days for Rhine and his bunch.
DOUBLE TROUBLE: Gettysburg senior Cami Boehner, a Bloomsburg recruit, leads the Mid-Penn in scoring (24.9) and 3-pointers (19) through the first two full weeks of the season.
OFF THE SCHNEID: It took six tries, but Waynesboro finally dented the W column for the first time this season last Wednesday with a 35-28 win over Shippensburg. Cat Weber bucketed a season-high 17 points in the win for the Indians. Speaking of the Greyhounds (0-5, 0-7), they are one of the only two winless teams in the Mid-Penn at the holiday checkpoint; Milton Hershey hit the break 0-6.
